Description

The 2 Złote 2013, issued by the National Bank of Poland, commemorates the ORP Generał Kazimierz Pułaski, a Polish frigate named after Kazimierz Pułaski (1745–1779), a national hero of both Poland and the United States. Pułaski is best known for his role in the American Revolutionary War, where he became known as the "Father of the American Cavalry."

The obverse features the Polish eagle, the national emblem of Poland, with the inscription "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA" (Republic of Poland) surrounding the design. The year of issue, "2013", is inscribed below, along with the denomination "2 ZŁ".

The reverse showcases a detailed depiction of the ORP Generał Kazimierz Pułaski, a guided-missile frigate (Oliver Hazard Perry class) serving in the Polish Navy. The ship is portrayed cutting through the waves, symbolizing Poland’s naval strength. The inscription "FREGATA RAKIETOWA ORP GENERAŁ KAZIMIERZ PUŁASKI" (Missile Frigate ORP General Kazimierz Pułaski) encircles the design.

Struck in Nordic gold (a copper alloy), this commemorative coin is a must-have for military and maritime collectors, celebrating Poland’s naval history and the legacy of Kazimierz Pułaski.
