This 2 Frank (Francs) silver coin from Belgium, minted in 1909, is a significant piece from the final year of King Leopold II’s reign. Struck in .835 fine silver, it is part of the Belgian bilingual coinage, featuring the Flemish legend instead of the French inscription found on earlier issues.
🔹 Obverse: Features a finely detailed left-facing portrait of King Leopold II, with the inscription "LEOPOLD II KONING DER BELGEN" ("Leopold II, King of the Belgians") in Dutch (Flemish), reflecting Belgium’s dual-language heritage. This was one of the last coins issued under his rule before his death in December 1909.
